Books

Here’s a list of all the books I’ve either co-written or written:

Expert Cube Development with SQL Server Analysis Services 2008

Expert Cube Development with SSAS Multidimensional Models (the second edition of the previous book, updated for SSAS 2012)

MDX Solutions (2nd Edition)

SQL Server Analysis Services 2012: The BISM Tabular Model

Power Query for Power BI and Excel

I’ll be honest, my Power Query book is quite out-of-date now – Power Query has changed a lot in the years since I wrote it, although the chapter on M is still relevant. On the other hand “Expert Cube Development”, despite being older, is still worth buying if you are using Analysis Services Multidimensional because the product itself has seen so few changes in the last decade.

  1. Hi, I’m reading Expert Cube Development with SSAS Multidimensional Models but none of the “tinylink.url/…” links in the text work. Is there a new location for these references?

    1. Hi Stella, I’ve just tested a few and I can see that some of them work, and some of them are dead. Can you tell me which ones in particular you are interested in?

  2. Hi Chris, Will you be coming up with a 2nd Edition of the Power Query for Power BI and Excel book?

    1. It’s something I’m thinking about, but I have no definite plans at the moment. Things are changing so quickly it would be very difficult to keep up!

  3. I bought the book “Power Query for Power BI and Excel”, where do I find the exercise files?
    Thanks

  4. Do you have plan to update the context of “Power Query for Power BI and Excel”? Any plan for new books about M?
